I
am an enthusiastic artist and teacher who was born in Beirut,
Lebanon. My family immigrated to Montreal in 1972. I graduated from Dawson College
in Graphic Design in 1980, and worked as a Graphic Artist for 10 years. While
working as a Graphic Artist, I began my studies in studio art at Concordia University.
Under the guidance of many good teachers, my work in Drawing, Painting and
Printmaking started to develop. I Graduated with distinction and received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in
1994.
After
my studies at Concordia University, I decided to devote more time towards my
artwork. I was accepted in the Printmaking Department at the University of
Alberta, where I received a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking in 1997.
I
have been the recipient of a Graduate Scholarship from the Province of Alberta
and the Mary Louise Imrie Graduate Student Award.
My
work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in Montreal and
Edmonton. I have also exhibited in International group exhibitions, including
the International Print Triennial (traveling show) in Poland, Germany and Brazil.
Currently
I teach Drawing I, Figure Drawing, Drawing with Pastel, Drawing with Colour and
all levels of Painting at the Visual Arts Centre in
Montreal.
My
works are in private collections and in the University of Alberta, Print Study
Centre, Edmonton.
